2024 USDA Farm Service Agency County Committee Elections
Nominations are now being accepted for farmers and ranchers to serve on local Farm Service Agency (FSA) county committees. These committees make important decisions about how federal farm programs are administered locally. All nomination forms for the 2024 election must be postmarked or received in the local FSA office by Aug. 1, 2024.

Disaster Assistance for Producers Impacted by Heavy Rain and Flooding
Agricultural operations in South Dakota have been significantly impacted by recent rain and flooding. USDA has technical and financial assistance available to help farmers and livestock producers recover from these adverse weather events. Impacted producers should contact their local USDA Service Center to report losses and learn more about program options available to assist in their recovery from crop, land, infrastructure, and livestock losses and damages. The Farm Service Agency State Committee in South Dakota reviews state and county operations by making decisions on how programs are applied on a state-wide basis. Appeals of County Committee decisions are heard at the state committee level.
